Golf holiday FAQs
From choosing your fairways to planning your stay, find answers to common questions about golf holidays, UK & Ireland breaks and booking with Viva Golf Breaks.
How do I plan a golf holiday around the courses I want to play?
Start by choosing your destination and adding your preferred golf courses to your trip. You can add more than one course, then browse hotels and resorts nearby. Send your saved choices to Viva Golf Breaks for a personalised quote. If you prefer to start with a hotel or a price, those search options are available too. Selecting a course saves a preference; it does not reserve a tee time.
Where should I go for a golf holiday in Portugal, Spain or Turkey?
Portugal suits golfers looking at Vilamoura, the wider Algarve or the Lisbon coast. Spain offers a broad choice, from the Costa del Sol to its islands and other golf regions. Belek in Turkey is a popular base for resort golf holidays. The best destination for your group depends on travel dates, preferred courses, accommodation and flight connections. Share those priorities so we can help you compare suitable options.
What types of UK and Ireland golf breaks can I enquire about?
You can enquire about short golf breaks, longer stays and hotel-based trips in the UK and Ireland. Accommodation options may offer bed and breakfast or dinner, bed and breakfast, depending on the particular stay. Use the separate UK and Ireland section to explore options, then tell us the courses you would like to play. Your personalised quote sets out the agreed accommodation, board basis and golf arrangements.
What is included in the price of my golf holiday?
Your written quote lists the accommodation, stay length, board basis and any other agreed services, together with the applicable sharing basis and conditions. Golf is shown as an included resort benefit only where the particular deal explicitly offers unlimited golf at that resort. Preferred courses saved in your trip are requests for us to plan around. Read the inclusions in your quote before accepting; we can clarify any item you are unsure about.
How are tee times, handicaps and golf extras confirmed?
Tell us your preferred courses and playing dates when you enquire. Tee times depend on course availability and are confirmed through the supplier process. Handicap certificates, dress codes and playing restrictions vary by course, so ask about the requirements for your group before travelling. Mention buggy hire, club hire or other playing needs in the enquiry notes so the team can check availability, conditions and any applicable cost.
Can I request airport transfers or discuss flights for my golf holiday?
Yes. Use the transfer and flight discussion options on the holiday enquiry form and explain your travel plans in the notes. We will establish what can be arranged for your trip and identify the agreed services in the quote. Check airline baggage and golf-club carriage rules before buying tickets, as allowances and charges vary. Flight selling is subject to the approved arrangements available for your booking.
Can you help with golf groups, non-golfers and society golf days?
Tell us who is travelling and mention non-golfers or individual requirements in your enquiry notes so accommodation options can be considered for the whole party. For a society day, use the dedicated Society Concierge enquiry form to share group size, dates and catering preferences. Society options require specific course availability and group pricing. PGA professionals and coaches can use the separate Golf Pro Travel enquiry for hosted or coaching trips.
How do deposits, balance payments and bank transfers work?
Your approved quote and booking documents explain the deposit, balance amount and payment deadlines for your particular trip. Where enabled for the booking, card payments are handled through Stripe and BACS bank transfer is also supported. A bank transfer is recorded as received only after it has been checked and reconciled. Use the payment instructions supplied for your booking and contact the team if you need help before sending money.
Can I change or cancel my golf break after booking?
Contact the team promptly or submit an amendment request through your customer portal. Changes to dates, party size, accommodation or golf arrangements depend on supplier availability and the terms that apply to your booking. We will explain any revised price or charges before an amendment is approved. Cancellation charges and refund eligibility depend on the agreed booking terms and applicable rights; submitting a request does not itself confirm a change or refund.
Do I need travel insurance for an overseas golf holiday?
Suitable travel insurance is strongly recommended. Check that the policy covers your destination, the full travel period, medical needs, cancellation circumstances and any golf equipment or activities relevant to your trip. Insurance cover and financial protection are different matters. Ask the team to explain the protection arrangements applicable to your specific booking and check the information supplied with your quote and booking documents before accepting.
